Working on a 4 ohm MAS112. Faital makes an astoundingly good 12"er. A little bit more full in the mid to upper bass. The Faital woof is down a bit in the mids from 500 hz where the 18Sound is a bit up at that point. So---using a much lower crossover frequency which works great with the 4" mids. About the same ultimate volume as the 18sound---maybe a touch louder because of 2mm more xmax. The 4 ohm version will have a switchable mid boost. Also, with the 4 ohm version you can get enough power out of most micros. Not quite as aggressive voicing as the 18sound version but with a bit of eq it's right up there.I like the fatter bass (but still very fast and controlled) for my style of playing.

I'll be curious to hear your impressions of it with upright.
