    MAS Practice Amp?

Post by Steve Regier on Thu Aug 14, 2014 12:32 am

Mike stopped in at BigE Northern Command to evaluate the possibilities of the MinEmax prototype as a powered practice/cafe unit. We are thinking that the MAS version would have a built-in preamp with 1/4" mono inputs with a HPF and a 1/8" stereo input as well. Bluetooth would be an option.

    What do y'all say?

How does it sound? A compact cab for " coffee house" gigs would be great!

I think this is a fabulous idea!

Have you considered adding a headphone jack? And, would you have independent volume controls for the 1/4" and aux 1/8" inputs?

The Phil Jones Bass Cub (BG-100) seems to be similar in concept, minus the bluetooth innovation:

Anyways, good luck! I'm very interested to see what becomes of this.

Looks groovy.  The comparison that comes to mind, based simply on size, is the 25.  If it can compete in cost, performance, convenience, it would be compelling.  Built-in tilt (if that's what I see in the photo) could be cool, and it's nice to have a grab-n-go for small stuff.  Never thought about Bluetooth -- would I have to worry about people hacking my cab?

Could it be used atop other cabs, and could two be used for a small, sub-less PA?

    Interesting.
